When you begin reading this book, you can't put it down. It is easy reading. There are two kinds of people in this world; those that are saved and those that are unsaved. The book will be support to the saved and "door opening" for the unsaved. Christ and football are the common denominators that tie it together. I knew Coach Glover when I played against one of his Etowah County football teams in 1948 while I attended Woodlawn High School. I think they beat us 2-0 in a driving rain. Reading about Jim and Jerry's experiences, with being saved, and having Jerry find out what "grace " is all about is the way it happened in my life. I joined the church and was baptized when I was eleven years old. I was 23 years old before I understood that I was saved by "grace" and not by my works. After reading this book, I'm fired up and ready to go again. Bobby Bowden Head Football Coach Florida State University

How people succeed – and how you can, too. ***Sunday Times no. 1 bestseller*** Alastair Campbell knows all about winning. As Tony Blair’s chief spokesman and strategist he helped guide the Labour Party to victory in three successive general elections, and he’s fascinated by what it takes to win. How do sports stars excel, entrepreneurs thrive, or individuals achieve their ambition? Is their ability to win innate? Or is the winning mindset something we can all develop? Drawing on the wisdom of an astonishing array of talented people – from elite athletes to top managers, from rulers of countries to rulers of global business empires – Alastair Campbell uses his forensic skills, as well as his own experience of politics and sport, to get to the heart of success. He examines how winners tick. He considers how they build great teams. He analyses how they deal with unexpected setbacks and new challenges. He judges what the very different worlds of politics, business and sport can learn from one another. And he sets out a blueprint for winning that we can all follow.

HOW HAVE SOME DISTINGUISHED Indian companies and MNCs operating in India acquired outstanding stature and sustained extraordinary performance over long spans of time? How do they develop and sustain competitive edge? What kind of leadership, basic paradigms, values, strategic orientations, organizational characteristics, managerial processes and practices make the difference? This book attempts to answer these questions, based on an intensive, empirical, two-year path breaking research study by All India Management Association that covered some of the most outstanding, highly admired Indian companies and multinational companies operating in India. It is the first book of its kind that has focused exclusively on the Indian business context for developing original and fresh insights into the factors, characteristics and practices that develop and sustain competitive edge. The book draws heavily from the insights of some of the most successful Indian business leaders and highly experienced professional managers. Their wisdom and thoughts have been quoted verbatim from interviews to bring to surface their rich tacit knowledge, which makes it an interesting reading based on real life experiences. The authors have developed a powerful '5-I' analytical framework to explain the basic organizational attributes that develop and sustain competitiveness. The framework has been developed through a comprehensive analysis of interviews, field observations, case studies, and analysis of performance over an extended period of time.
